Team Position: Fashion & Wardrobe Director

Why I'm Going:

This is such a great opportunity to learn not only about where design is going, but where I'm going in design. We're graduating in a time where there haven't been many job opportunities for us. So in light of that, we're creating opportunities for ourselves. I want to meet this head on and take control of my future.

Why I Design:

I love beautiful things, as corny as that sounds. And I think everyone deserves them. However, going beyond "beauty" is a lasting experience. When I design, I want my products to have an instilled level of ownership, pride, personal investment and happiness, like finding your favorite pen, a new haircut or finally finding the wedding dress that is "the one." I love to see products have an impact on their lives, make them feel something, creating value that goes beyond a dollar sign.

What Do I Do:

I love to design things people wear and interact directly with, like clothing and soft goods. I love the idea of people being able to put on a piece of clothing, hold a bag or wear a bracelet to describe how they think or feel. Moreover, when these products have a dual purpose, like an oven-mitt or an apron they have more meaning.
